<p>1.    Change your sleeping position. There are many experts that recommend avoiding sleeping on the back if snoring is a problem. Changing the sleeping position can help to increase the ease of airflow that can occur through the nose, mouth and to the lungs. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Sleeping disorders are a common complaint of adults within the United States. Of the various sleeping disorders in which individuals suffer from, there are three common ailments which are most often complained of, these include; sleep apnea, insomnia and snoring.</p>
<p>These common ailments affect a large percentage of the population and therefore research is constantly being completed to find methods to help patients deal with the side effects and symptoms of each of these common sleeping disorders.</p>
<p><strong>Sleep Apnea</strong></p>
<p>Sleep apnea is a disorder in which the individual has lapses in breathing while the patient slept. There are times when the lapses can last as much as a few minutes, causing the breathing lapses to become dangerous.</p>
<p>Chronic sleep apnea is defined as these episodes occurring more than three times per week. Therefore, they can easily disrupt the sleeping pattern and lead to the individual being sleep deprived – which can worsen the symptoms of sleep apnea.</p>

<p>How does sleeping enable the body to lose weight? Sleeping allows the body to become rested and repaired from the day’s activity. Without sleep, the body is unable to repair from the damage which may occur through the day and therefore the body is prone to infections and prone to pain as well as weight gain. Sleep is required in order to maintain proper bodily function and therefore going without sleep can have detrimental effects not only on the weight, but on the rest of the body.</p>

Here are some methods that can be used to increase the ability to get a good night’s sleep:</p>
<p>- Your bedroom should be for sleeping only. Remove distractions from the bedroom such as music and television which can actually stimulate the mind rather than allowing the individual to be able to find peace, calmness and quiet in the bedroom.</p>
<p>- Avoid eating or drinking foods that contain amounts of caffeine in the afternoon. These foods can increase the activity within the mind and act as a stimulant, which can prevent the onset of sleep for hours after the beverage or food has been consumed.</p>
